Interesting. But all the numbers, still do not answer some of my basic questions like:
1) How much of penetration would this achieve in India?
2) obviously there is a segment that would go for this; however there is still a much larger segment who can afford but does not understand Social Media, though they do understand Social & Media separately.
3) The % ratio of usage currently is too low.
4) The Net; computer; mobile penetration or rather correctly usage to be able to deploy social media is still some time away.
5) Also any one of them spoils you for choice e.g. - tech info - on twitter if you just open the links & try to read them, you end up frittering away your time.
Don't know how but there has to be a way to harness all of this in the Indian Context.
Hi Anaggh, Thanks for your comment. Your concerns are very justified.
Even my research shows that the majority of twitter users are from west and that the percentage of people in India are low compared to that. Further most twitter user at East are students, bloggers and very few entrepreneurs.
The awareness of the potential might be lacking. From my experience in twitter, I can say that there are very energetic and potential young minds, making there way through it. And its quite encouraging.
For a serious marketing platform and so. we still have lot to go and harness this Social Media Optimization.
